On April 26th, 1963, Jet Li was born in an ordinary worker's family in Beijing, he had two sisters and two brothers. In 1965, Jet Li's father died. In 1971, he started to learn martial arts in Beijing Shichahai Sports School, thus started his martial arts athlete career, In 1972, he took part in the Chinese martial arts competitions and won the Outstanding Performance Prize.
